Hello! My name is Janice Lam, though I go by lamjylam on the internet. Welcome to my website.

A new graduate from Brescia University College, affiliate of Western University, I specialized in Psychology, completing a thesis on perfectionism, emotional intelligence, and subjective well-being. I entered psychology because of how interesting I find people’s stories. Everyone has strengths just as everyone has weaknesses. Everyone has reasons for how they feel, think, and act. The possibilities of what these reasons could be captivate me and I believe that by discovering them, knowing them, and working with them, life on an individual, as well as on a larger scale, may improve.

A friend of mine described me as the following:

“A people person, someone who wants to make changes individually, learning how to perceive the world microscopically vicariously through each person and thus shaping the world macroscopically.”

I enjoy hearing people’s stories. I like talking with people, and learning from them, as well as what discussion we may have. I believe that a lot can be gleaned through just communicating with one another; this is a large part of my interests in marketing, reading, and writing, as well as social media! This also ties into my love for research, because both quantitative and qualitative data can provide insight on how people’s minds work; their perceptions, their behaviours, and their emotions all play a large role in how people view their own stories, as well as those of others.

This website, aka blog, is a way for me to share my own experiences, and what I’ve learned from them. I hope that others may find my content relatable, helpful, thought-provoking, or at least, somewhat amusing and/or enjoyable.

Thank you for reading this. Feel free to share your thoughts through comments or by contacting me. I hope to hear from you!
